The minimum admission requirement for the program is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) or an equivalent qualification (e.g., Senior Certificate with endorsement), with at least 30% in English. Additionally, candidates must have an achievement rating of 4 (adequate achievement, i.e., 50%-59%) or higher in four subjects from the designated subject list, which includes Accounting, Agricultural Science, Business Studies, Dramatic Arts, Economics, Engineering Graphics and Design, Geography, History, Consumer Studies, Information Technology, Languages, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, Music, Physical Science, Religion Studies, and Visual Arts.

To be considered for admission, students must submit proof of completing Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification, preferably in the form of a National Senior Certificate (NSC) or National Certificate (Vocational) (NCV), demonstrating that they meet the minimum requirements for admission to a Degree (D). Alternatively, a Senior Certificate with higher and/or standard grade subjects or another equivalent school-leaving certificate will be accepted.
